Every year, the question arises as to what to give for Christmas. Relaxound boxes are popular gifts, they offer pure natural relaxation and can do much more. As a supporter of the international environmental initiative 1% for the Planet, we donate 1% of our total turnover to certified environmental projects every year. In this way, you give environmental protection as a gift.
Almost 70% of our customers give our sound boxes as gifts. That was the result of an internal survey. There are reasons for this great popularity. Many people appreciate the relaxing effect of the natural sounds, the simple plug & play, the typical design and the "priceless" surprise effect of our sound boxes. Our fans love to get a smile on their lips again and again. And they like to pass on this joy. What many people don't know: With every box, we protect our nature. This is made possible by our commitment to 1% for the Planet.
Giving the gift of relaxation, supporting environmental projects
The environmental initiative, which has been active since 2002, was founded by Yvon Chouinard and Craig Matthews. With their company Patagonia, the two have been donating 1% of their annual turnover to the protection of the environment since 1985. With their network 1% for the Planet, they carry this idea out into the world. Since then, more than 3,400 international companies have joined and become part of the 1% for the Planet community. The initiative supports thousands of environmental projects in over 64 countries. Transparency is very important to 1% for the Planet. So we know exactly where our money goes. We support two environmental projects in the long term.
1% for the Planet: A strong alliance for nature
On the one hand, we support the Bergwaldprojekt e.V. (Mountain Forest Project), a Germany-wide association that aims to preserve the vital eco-system of forests for future generations. Thanks to our donations, weakened forests, for example, are sustainably reforested. Members of the association and volunteers work together to create near-natural and ecologically valuable biotopes. Because balanced mixed forests are naturally far more resilient than monocultures. We also support the Sadhana Forrest project in India. Here, a living dry forest is growing up, which serves as a healthy livelihood and home for local people. This stops the strong migration of the population to the cities and strengthens the rural region. This is a sustainable project that serves as a role model and whose findings also benefit other regions.
Together we can simply move more
At first glance, 1% may not seem like much. But thanks to the strong community of internationally successful companies, considerable donations are collected year after year that benefit nature. In this way, as part of a growing environmental movement, we jointly set an example for responsible business and a more conscious approach to nature. Another good thing is that thanks to the worldwide community of supporters, the donors can plan ahead and use their funds for the long term. This means that even large-scale aid projects can be realised. The Bergwaldprojekt e.V., for example, bought a 200-hectare forest area in Thuringia to convert it into a forest of the future. A healthy ecological forest system with exemplary character is being created here. We are proud to be a part of it. And you can help us to help!
