The soundbox on travels: Always a piece of home with you

When Christof enters a hotel room, one of his first actions is to set up a soundbox. This ritual has become a beautiful tradition for him. "To ensure the box doesn't get scratched during transport, I even have my own packaging—a small black velvet bag. I bring a different soundbox each time," Christof smiles. Curious about how many he has, we ask. A lot! Originally, Christof wanted to exchange a soundbox. He called the Relaxound customer center and told Caro that he's a true fan of their boxes and has quite a collection at home. This piqued our curiosity, and we wanted to know more. Here's his exclusive fan story.

"In every room, I have soundboxes from you. I like the different designs, the new colors, and the various motifs. What does Christof particularly like? "Sound, for me, is a comfort factor that turns an anonymous space into something coz. Essentially, sound is an interior accessory!" Is there a favorite box? "The house-shaped Zwitscherbox is something special! It represents home for me, symbolizing the blackbird's song in local forests—it's unmistakable. Typical Relaxound! I believe it's essential for each box to have its own shape, to be distinctive, to have character."

Design plays a significant role for Christof: "A creative shape sets it apart from other products. This also applies to the presentation in stores. I enjoy browsing through stores and am always delighted when I discover something new from you. Recently, I saw motifs I hadn't seen before! There was the Oceanboxen with ship ropes and seashells arranged, almost like being at the beach—it made you want to buy it! You always buy with emotion, at least with creative products with character." The Birdyboxis particularly practical for Christof; it's easy to transport on travels. "It's like a Zwitscherbox to go, and I love its premium look!"

What new sounds can you imagine in a new Relaxound box, we ask. "International sounds that evoke memories of vacations or satisfy wanderlust. My favorite would be a savannah sound; there are fascinating sounds there, especially at night. I think it would be fantastic as a box! Crucial: The Savanna Box must have its own shape! It should look like Africa before it sounds." We can only agree with Christof, the idea certainly sounds appealing and is similar to the Junglebox, which also transports you to an exotic world. "I love the illustration of the Junglebox," Christof reveals, "it's exactly how I imagined it!"

Imagined how? "Well, I always wanted a soundbox with rainforest sounds. When your Junglebox came out, I could hardly believe my ears, it was exactly what I wanted. Something similar happened with the Zirpybox; I always wanted a summer sound, and then suddenly, there was a box with the relaxed chirping—amazing!" One thing that also excites Christof, unrelated to sound or design, is our customer service. "I just have to say this: Your customer service is excellent! That's often hard to come by these days. Someone really listens to me and helps me. When Caro called me back and asked if we could do an interview, I was genuinely excited!" The excitement is mutual; we love our job for moments like these.
